Brian Sherman, President

Brian is a veteran mergers and acquisitions professional. Having spent most of his legal career as senior counsel to Alcan Inc., Brian was a key member of an elite team that divested 28 Alcan downstream businesses with a combined value exceeding $1 billion. In 1996, Brian founded Meracq Mergers and Acquistions Inc. With roles as Managing Director of a related firm - Momentum - and as Meracq's founder and President, Brian has advised and participated in numerous transactions with a combined transactional value exceeding $500 million. Brian is a graduate of McGill University and University of Montreal, where he received his law degree in 1978.


G. Ross Smith, Managing Director

Ross's experience spans the investment banking, capital equipment and transport industries sectors.  Responsible for overseeing a network of approximately 1,000 agents across Canada, Ross brings experience as a marketing specialist previously involved in the successful syndication of $200 million of tax driven retail investment banking products.  Prior incarnations include: sales manager for Eastern Canada for a major companies in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food and beverage industries.  He also represented European and United States capital equipment manufacturers.  He remains an active shareholder of a specialty "less-than-load" transport carrier.  Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with a business minor from Bishop's University.


David Williams, Principal

David’s focus on financial services has provided him with extensive experience in personal and commercial lending, automobile & capital equipment leasing, marketing, sales and business development.

Following the first five years of his career with the main branch of the Toronto-Dominion Bank, David moved to Ford Motor Credits upstart division PRIMUS Automotive Canada. At PRIMUS David was a key player achieving the $1 billion mark in net receivables 18 months ahead of plan. Building on this success he migrated west assisting the opening of the new PRIMUS Regional Office and was responsible for Western Canada. David was then lured to BC Tel’s business development group and contributed to more than 4 years’ solid growth of the company. David next returned to the automobile industry as a Financial Services Consultant for Ford Finance Company following which, David accepted an offer to move to Volvo Cars of Canada (a division of Ford Motor Company) where he currently holds the position as Regional Operation Manager responsible for Western Canada.

David graduated from Bishop’s University, Lennoxville, Quebec with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Major in Economics.


Tom Nentwick

Tom’s specialty and strength is in the aluminum extrusion industry in which he has spent the past 27 years.  Nineteen of those years were spent with Alumax Extrusions (15 years) and Easco Aluminum (4 years) prior to starting T.E. Nentwick & Associates, Inc.  Having spent his career in a variety of management capacities with these companies, including sales management and general management positions, Tom has developed a comprehensive understanding of this industry.

Since starting his own company (www.extrusionsupplies.com) in 1998 Tom has become North America’s foremost leader in the sale of used aluminum extrusion equipment and provider of supplies and equipment to aluminum extruders.  Tom also offers equipment consulting and appraisal expertise to aluminum extruders throughout North America.

Tom resides in northeast Ohio with his wife and two daughters.
